Since 2002, I've designed and managed Web sites, and portfolios for Sonoma County artists and contractors. I am an award-winning photographer with printing and editing skills in both film and digital formats.
I am knowledgeable in the latest versions of the following computer graphic software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. I am proficient in both HTML and CSS coding, designing to the current standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international consortium where member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards.
I grew up on a large dairy ranch in Two Rock, on the western edge of Sonoma County. As a child, I roamed the rolling hills, sprinkled with oak trees and wildflowers. I've always had a passion for the outdoors and feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of our country.
I picked up my first camera when I was thirteen, shooting primarily black and white film. As much as I liked the artistic form of black and white, I began to add color to my repertoire to capture the incredible variations of color in the wings of a swallowtail butterfly, or the ruffled petals of a bearded iris.
After I started my family, my gears naturally shifted to photographing people. One of my specialties is outdoor portraiture. The look and feel of natural lighting is much more flattering to the features than artificial light. We live in such a great area that, within an hour, we can have a magnificent variety of natural backdrops-- redwoods, valley oaks, apples orchards, the ocean, rivers, and vineyards and more.
I also sell photographs that I have taken in Sonoma County. Some of these are on display at www.dnorthphoto.com.
Today, I've combined my passion for photography with my passion for computers, into designing websites for artists, contractors, schools, non-profits, and other businesses.
